Overview

PMIBC E&C Forum is proud to announce its second Project Management Industry Symposium for the Engineering and Construction Industry.

This year Symposium theme is "Building A Better Tomorrow - Leveraging Project Management". The future of construction lies in the hands of Project Managers on how they apply the emerging technologies, innovate and achieve the sustainable development. Construction Industry will come into sharper focus now than in previous years as REITs promise to open up the real estate market to smaller investors in the coming years. The country's construction industry is poised for growth in the medium-to-long term on the back of higher transparency and further consolidation. Due to improvements in structural reforms viz. RERA implementation and liberalisation of the foreign direct investment (FDI) policy industry is expected to raise up the governance ladder further. As we are in the cusp of transformation of India from emerging economy to one of the largest economies of the world, construction industry is poised to play vital role. This Symposium aims to look for opportunities for the professionals to be prepared for these exciting times.

Technical Papers

The E&C industry has its own set of unique challenges, which need to be addressed by the professionals as the project or activity progresses. PMI has documented the best project management practices in their document, PMBoK, which is adopted by practitioners all over the world. The successful execution of construction projects depends on the seamless integration of technology with management practices to optimize results.

To enhance the learning experience by knowledge sharing PMI Bangalore India Chapter intends to publish a compendium of technical papers. The technical papers would highlight how this framework of PMBoK was adopted and leveraged by professionals to meet the challenges at work, with the lessons learnt and recommendations for future similar situations.

Papers on relevant theme are invited from project management practitioners, academicians and experts in various domains. Authors can contribute one or more papers on any relevant topic(s) as per the theme.

Organizer's Views

Bringing together construction industry project management professionals on a platform has been an exciting and fulfilling endeavour for the Engineering & Construction Forum volunteers over past two years. It is indeed with great pleasure we announce the 2nd Symposium to be on March 10, 2017 at The Leela Palace, Bangalore.

We are once again bringing together stalwarts and thought leaders of the industry to share their perspectives and how we can be better prepared for tomorrow. The theme of the Symposium – "Building A Better Tomorrow – Leveraging Project Management" aptly describes the current industry's outlook for India as the fastest growing economy with lots of potential and hopes. We from PMI Bangalore India Chapter look forward to welcome you to the event and support as always.
