PM Footprints: During the month of January two PM Footprints sessions were held. On 08th January 2015, the topic for the session was “Project Management Simplified and Transformed”. Mr. Rajneesh Malhotra, Head of Delivery Excellence, Wipro Technologies, spoke on this topic. The talk focused on the ability of PM’s to concentrate on the most critical parameters thereby bringing in a simplistic and un-cluttered approach to Project Management. mrbhaskar
mrbhaskar On 22nd January 2015 the topic of the session was “Managing Virtual Teams in Projects”. Ms. M.V. Nagarathna, a Senior Project Manager with IBM India Ltd., spoke on this topic. In today's world of global corporations and virtual world, managing virtual teams across geographies is a reality. In her presentation she talked about some of the best practices that could be applied while managing teams spread across the globe.
Agile Foundation Program: The Chapter also conducted a one day workshop on Agile titled “Agile Foundation Program”. The program was held on 31st January 2015, nearly 12 members participated in the workshop.
Distribution of Vidya Mitra E-Learning Kits to Various Schools: The Chapter in association with Rotary Bangalore West has distributed Vidya Mitra, the E-learning kits to three schools. The E-learning kits consist of a TV monitor along with a mini PC and software for enabling the high school children to learn the various topics very easily and effectively. It also helps the teachers in giving better insights into the subjects.
The kits have been so designed that they can be powered using a solar panel in case of frequent non-availability of electric power in rural areas.
At present the kits have been distributed to Govt. High School Yeliur near Devanahalli, Govt. High School at Malur in Kolar district, and Govt. High School at Geddalahalli near Sanjay Nagar, Bangalore.
Mr. Vijay Paul, Chapter's Secretary and Treasurer participated in a small function held at all the three places and officially gave away the kits.
