Vijayragahavan Sheshadri a.k.a Vijay, Masters in Electronics and Telecommunication from Pune University and Master in Defense Studies from Defense Staff Collage Vijay has more than 33 years of experience in senior leadership positions in Multinational Product Company, Indian Navy and Indian Defense Labs. He has successfully delivered multi-million dollar programs in US/India, played Director of Program Management for Automation Control Solutions/Aerospace, Instituting Product Development practices and Mentored/groomed product managers. He has leveraged Agile methodologies both for internal tool development and product development. He played a key role in enhancing the product ownership at the captive product development center for a Multinational Corporation

Topic Description:

The most useful means of using Political skill is to leverage conflicts in projects to the project’s advantage. In a matrix environment involving diverse stakeholders ‘Political skill’ is a necessity rather than a luxury. Politics is generally associated with negative connotations to being driven by self-interest (“Machiavellian” Politics, Project Political skills involve managing and leveraging politics (“Necessary” Politics) towards achieving project objectives in an ethical manner. This lecture will highlight well researched and proven approach to the positive politics success model and the required skills and strategies to build one’s power and influence to successfully leverage politics to achieve project objectives.
