Editor's Note

Dear Readers,

Editor 2018

It gives me great pleasure to share with you the special edition of PM Essence by PMI Bangalore Chapter providing exclusive coverage of the Project Management Practitioners' Conference – PMPC 2019 along with our regular features..

We hope that by the time you have this edition with you, you have experienced the 2019 PMPC theme of “Architecting Project Management for Embracing Disruptions...” and have noted down your takeaways of how individuals and organizations have embraced disruptions at their workplaces.

In our continuous pursuit of excellence, each of us must reflect on the impact of everything that we do. We are seeing one of the hottest years in terms of soaring temperatures all around the world. Water shortage in multiple places across India is reminding us of our responsibility to live in harmony with nature. There's always an opportunity to take appropriate steps to bring our lifestyle back to old days of conservation. We need to understand the damage that little actions every day can cause to the environment.

We know that global warming is becoming a huge challenge. Many cities across the world have recorded temperatures not seen any time in history. Its estimated that in next 10 to 15 years, some of parts of the world will become inhabitable if the current pace of global  warming continues. The problems and solutions are well known. It's up to us to do our bit for the earth and set an example for others to follow. That's the best each one of us can do for the generations to come. Just like many small acts cause the challenge, different small acts can fix things as well. We'd like you to be cognizant of your surroundings and remember the world as you received from your parents. And what it is today. And what it is that you are handing down to your next generation.

On that hope, I thank you for your participation and patronage at the PMPC 2019. I hope you have enjoyed your share of learning and networking during the conference. We will always cherish your association with PMI Bangalore India Chapter and return value for your investment on yourself! I invite you to contribute to “PM Essence”, the monthly journal/newsletter from PMI Bangalore India Chapter. Write about insights that you would want to share with the community. However small they may be. As you take time to write, you will uncover deeper understanding of your insights as well. And that's how new knowledge is born.

And every month, don't forget to pick up an edition of your favorite PM magazine at a chapter event or online!

Thanks and Best Wishes

Tanish Mathur, PMP, PMI-ACP
