Krishna Mohan K., is a PMP credential holder with 12 years of IT experience. Krishna is a process savvy with vast experience in Software Quality Assurance, Process Consulting, Project and Program Management. He worked in Europe, US, China and Asia Pacific in various roles. Currently works with Harman International – The Premium Audio & Infotainment Co. spearheading and executing the Process Improvement strategy for India. He holds Masters Degree in computer applications.

His specializations include Automotive SPICE, CMMI, Lean Six Sigma and ISO. Krishna is Automotive SPICE Competent Assessor and certified ISO Auditor. Krishna is a volunteer in PMI Bangalore chapter since 2011 and does strong advocacy for Project Management. He volunteered for entire spectrum of flagship events and presently involved in membership team.

What motivates you to volunteer for PMI?
Acting on deeply held sublime values about the importance of helping others specially oriented towards strong advocacy for Project Management. Enhancing my sense of esteem and developing interpersonal relations / demeanor.

What is the hardest thing about doing volunteer work?
The trade-off between the personal family time and juggling priorities. Finding time for extracurricular activities is a bit challenging.

PMI Volunteering, Professional commitment, Personal commitment – How do you balance the three?
These are the triple constraints of my life and prefer a pragmatic approach. Lion’s share dedicated for Professional and Personal commitment. PMI Volunteering becomes part of our family as my wife being another active volunteer. We treat this as pride and not much hassle.

Name any 1-2 best volunteering experience

1. Being part of Project Management National Conference Bangalore, India, meeting the delegates and intellectuals from India and abroad. Meeting Dr. Kalam, Dr. Narayana Murthy and Mr. Mark Langley(CEO PMI) being the paramount.

Planned, Executed the PM Primer -2011. Playing EMCEE role for the entire event was enthralling experience. Meeting Prof. Sadagopan Director IIIT, Bangalore and other professors being the
paramount as well.

Tell us your hobbies, or things you are passionate about, other than volunteering at PMI
Social work especially engaged with old age homes, Playing cricket, writing poetry

What will be your message for your fellow volunteers
Volunteering is savoir-faire. It gets better with more involvement. It helped me to learn
• Difference between enforced leadership and earned leadership
• Importance of NOT being a leader sometimes
• How to be a good follower
• How to motivate people and last but not the least
• work with industry stalwarts
