SoumenDe Dear Friends,

Greetings from PMI Bangalore India Chapter and Happy New Year!

We had a pretty successful 2013 as we launched several new initiatives like PM Enrich and continued our involvement in Vidya Deepa project under which final year students in villages with limited electricity supply were provided with re-chargeable LED lamps to help them spend more hours for exam preparation.

The successful PMPC 2013 highlighted once again the power of volunteers who demonstrated great team work and exemplary leadership. Our engagement with student’s community was highlighted when we got a record 600+ students from 22 colleges attending the PM Primer event which was held a day before the PMPC. There were other initiatives like PMI-ACP program, etc. which also generated lots of interest among the members. We got a great sense of fulfilment when we heard that our Chapter was honored with “Recognition of Excellence award in Category IV by the PMI USA. This recognizes the impact we are making in our community with several initiatives- thanks to all our volunteers who made it happen for us.

While it is good to look at those accomplishments and motivate us, we have more things laid out for us in 2014. We would also like to roll out more volunteering opportunities for you as we are revamping our VRMS to provide us the technology platform. As I had discussed before, engaging with volunteering activities with Chapter, not only provides a tremendous sense of satisfaction but also provides you a great opportunity to hone your leadership skills. Here is one opportunity that will come your way in 2014. Our Chapter is looking for nominations for the four vacant positions of Directors. The Nominating Committee that was formed by the Chapter Board on January 04, 2014 will conduct the elections to these positions. The Elections will be conducted as per the Charter provided by the Board to the Nominating Committee. See additional information in this edition. By taking a board position you will get the prestigious opportunity to shape the vision of the our Chapter on our journey of achieving advancement of project management philosophy in our community. Looking forward to hear from you as we continue to learn, share and grow in our professional career.
Happy Reading!

Thanks and Best Wishes,
