Presentation 1

Topic: Force Field Analysis – A Practitioner’s View   by  Mr. Asif K A

Senior Consultant
Northern Trust

Synopsis:

Projects drive change in organisations and project managers are tasked with ensuring the projects transition from a current state to future state by integrating and aligning people, processes, structures, culture, and strategy – all elements of change management. While project management is “the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities”, change management focuses on the less tangible aspects of transitioning to a future state.

Force Field Analysis (FFA) is an approach used to look at change and consider how it should be handled. FFA is a key tool that can be used to assess how difficult it will be to transition to a future state. What forces are FOR and AGAINST the change and how strong they are.

Audience will gain

–           What is FFA?

–           How to use it?

–           What are ‘Driving Forces’?

–           What are ‘Restraining Forces’?

–           Limitations of FFA

Presentation 2

Topic: Sensemaking with Agility in a VUCA world  by  Ms. Asha Ramesh

Program Manager
DXC Technology

Synopsis :

In this VUCA world, Cynefin a sense making framework, by Dave Snowden helps you understand your operating domain and suggests an approach to deal with it. This presentation talks about how you can use the Cynefin model to validate the Agile framework approach that you are planning to implement. It also gives you insight on your natural leanings for decision making vs the approach that should be taken based on the domain of your problem.

This presentation shares insights into how the Cynefin framework can be used to decide the type of environment that you are in at any point in time and use that knowledge to decide on the type of Agile framework(s) can be used be it for project/solution delivery. It also cautions on the type of approach that you need to consciously choose to make a better decision rather than follow one that comes naturally to you based on your leanings.
