Project Management from a Doer’s Guide, a CEO reflects
The pragmatic approach to manage a project is the best option. Believe more on yourself and the team you select rather than the methodology and hosts of tools and technology. While they are also important, at times I found that the overengineered approach of delivering is the culprit resulting in severe delay in the implementation. I am not against project management tools and extensive planning, but throughout my career, I have found that at times we spend way too much time in planning, making complicated charts and not paying enough attention to execution. The other lesson I learnt was that we need to spend more time in analyzing the problem than the solution. Understanding the problem is two-thirds of the solution done.
