Topic: What the Future Holds for New Age Project Management Professionals by Mr. Ameya Gumaste
Indian construction industry is at cross-roads today. This sector is the second largest employer in India and a key economic driver. Reports say, by 2030, India would be the third largest construction market in the world. On one side we have many road blocks of growth and the other end we also see rapid advancement of technology and tools.
It is thus, a very interesting conversation to understand where we stand today and what lies ahead.
One thing is for sure: The new age construction project manager will have new challenges and also there will be new opportunities. We will deliberate on what some these situations are and what our responses could be. There are many ways and prisms through which we could look at this. Mr Ameya presents his personal take in the session
Topic: Concrete Printing Challenges & Opportunities by Dr. Biranchi Panda
Concrete is worldwide used as one of the major construction materials, both in situ and prefabricated. It is cheap, fire resistant and durable. However, the costs of a typical concrete structures consist for about 50% on the formwork needed. Besides, the cement production is responsible for a serious part of the exhaust of greenhouse gasses worldwide. Printing of concrete structures potentially could save on the costs, improves productivity and could above all seriously limit the environmental impact by using less material. This talk will discuss various methods of printing concrete followed by material characterization such as rheology and green strength development. Finally, the talk will touch on the future outlook and the current trends of this new and exciting field.
