1. Avoid Scope Creep  Managing scope creep in project management is another essential element to project success. Although some change is inevitable in any project situation, you will want to keep your project from creeping into chaos. In general, scope creep happens when new elements are added to a project that's already been approved, but no consideration is given to increasing the budget, adding more time to the schedule and/or adding more resources to compensate for the revised project. If the project's scope needs to be revisited, you can participate in the rescoping process. Make sure to have the proper documentation and have all stakeholders sign off on these changes before proceeding.     ( Reference https://www.villanovau.com/resources/%20project-manageme...

Editor's Note Dear Readers, The recent turn of events in the Kashmir valley reminds us of the importance of decision making in resolving any issue. While many hail the decision as long due, there's always the 'other' side to any decision. Without going into details or taking sides, let's look at decision making as a science to understand the process so that the decisions we make in our projects can be the best - not just by coincidence or in hindsight. Decisions must be timely. The longer you delay a decision, the harder it becomes to course correct in case your project risks running off course. Often, decisions are made even without getting every stakeholder involved. Weigh the risk to return possibilities and decide with the information at hand. Many decisions are often delaye...
